Lots of Cutting

Hi Everyone,

In my loneliness from my sewing machine in the shop, I’ve been trying to keep progress going.  I’ve been cutting my hour-glass blocks into nine patches. It’s a bit confusing to cut nine pieces.  The measurements aren’t the easy quarter or half inches.  I’m concerned that they might be a little off, but I will make them work as best as I can and hope for the best.  I tend to worry about those kinds of things and they usually work out.

Some and expressed interest in how the block will look once they are cut and turned.  So I took a couple of pictures.  I’m always amazed and the changes that occur when you just turn blocks around.  Here’s the results.

I still have quite a few blocks left to cut.  I’m taking my time to be as accurate as possible.  I should have them all cut this weekend.  Ready for sewing when I get my machine back.

The linky parties I usually participate in can be found by clicking this link.  Please visit them and see what others are up to.  There are many bloggers out there who share their tips, projects, and tutorials to inspire us.

That’s all for now.  Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Thanks, I got that layercake on sale for $20. I think it was a bargain. Wait until you see all the different patterns and colors in it as I progress and I can show off the whole top.

  1. I always feel lost when my machine goes in for a good cleaning. I love the look of the block when you cut and turn it! Great fabrics, too!!

  2. Hi Cherie,
You are making lemonade out the lemons you were handed! Just think of how quickly you’ll be able to put those blocks together now that you have them cut out so carefully. These look really great and I love your fabrics – $20 sounds like a bargain for a layer cake to me! ~smile~ Roseanne
