Stack n Flip Finished

Hi Everyone,

Just a short post before the weekend.

My first finish of 2018 was my stack n flip quilt.  Actually, I finished it a couple of weeks ago and have just decided to post about it.  This quilt was a gift for my sons oldest friend.  He just recently graduated from college and has moved into his own home.  So this is supposed to be a graduation/house-warming gift.  I gave it to my son for him to pass on.

I keep reading about labeling quilts.  Since I am new to this, I haven’t really come up with a logo that I am happy with so I just bought a couple with just my name on it.  At least I can use those for now.  They are kind of small and difficult to sew on, so I first sew them on a square of fabric and then I sew the square with the label on it on the quilt.  I’ll get more creative with it down the road.  I just want my name to be on this.  If someone see it and likes my work, they could track me down and I might be able to make one for them.  I though about writing the date on it with a permanent marker, but I wanted to keep it looking sharp since I doubt this will be an heirloom.  done-label.jpg

This week I’ve been sewing my blocks together for my stained glass quilt.  It’s taking me longer to put the sashing on that it was to sew up the blocks.  I hope to have a completed top by Monday.  Stay tuned for that as I am really pleased with how it coming out.

The linky parties I usually participate in can be found by clicking this link.  Please visit them and see what others are up to.  There are many bloggers out there who share their tips, projects, and tutorials to help us through ours.

That’s all for now.  Thanks for stopping by.

    1. Hi Lynn,
I’m glad you like it. I used a Benartex Dreamscape jelly roll and Moda black. Thanks for your comment. I’m told the young man I gave it to is treating it with honor. This makes me very happy. 😀
