Quilting Stack n Flip

Hi Everyone,

We are having some record low temperatures here in Louisiana.  We people down here aren’t equipped for this.  I could live with a couple of days of cold weather, however, we had icy rain most of the afternoon and into yesterday and now the roads are very dangerous.  We are not used to these conditions so I’m going to stay in today.

I’ve been able to quilt my stack n flip quilt.  I originally intended to try some ruler work on it, but my sewing machine is not liking it very much.  I tried the circle ruler and my machine was skipping stitches at 10 o’clock and 4 o’clock.  So I changed my plan and did some straight stitching with the walking foot.  It was nice to do some brainfree sewing.

So now it’s on to some hand binding while on the sofa.  The perfect thing to do on an ice day.

The linky parties I usually participate in can be found by clicking this link.  Please visit them and see what others are up to.  There are many bloggers out there who share their tips, projects, and tutorials to help us through ours.

That’s it for now.  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. I’m from Louisiana, too. Moved away when I was a child, but moved back when my husband’s job took us all over the state. I remember sitting in a New Orleans McDonalds watching people ” try” to drive on icy streets. Fortunately, no one was injured! I’m enjoying your quilt journey and I’ve been wanting to do a Hunter’s Star. Seeing yours is just the inspiration I need to get going on mine.

  2. Hi Cherie,
I’m SO glad you just stayed in. Ice is the worst, I think. Love the colors and straight stitching is the bomb, especially on something so linear. Now you get to enjoy hand stitching while staying warm underneath the quilt?! Sounds perfect to me. ~smile~ Roseanne
