Hunter’s Star Reveal

Hi Everyone,

It’s finally done and here’s the big reveal.  After many hours of work, it has finally come together.  I am pleased with the results.  I am sure my In-laws will enjoy this once they receive it for Christmas.

I used Jenny Doan’s tutorial on you tube.  She made it very simple with just HST star blocks and 4-patches.  I don’t think I would have had such success without this.

The supplies are as follows.  I used an Ophelia layer cake by Nancy Gere with brick Moda for contrast.  The borders were khaki Kona.  I can’t recall the backing fabric.  It’ just something I found that would fit from my stash without me having to go back to the store or order anything.

Here are the two star blocks with the number of each to make.  Jenny tells you what size to make the HST’s and trim to.  It did take some time to trim all those.

The weather here has finally cooled off down here and there is low humidity.  I love this time of year.  I wish we had a real fall where the trees would turn colors.  It seems in Louisiana one day they are green and the next all the leaves are gone.  Maybe, it’s just the kind of trees that grow down here.

  1. So lovely! Thanks for sharing. We’re having nice weather in Houston as well, and a little fall color when the pine trees drop their needles all over the sidewalks. That’s probably the closest we’ll get to pretty leaves. ;o)
