Blogger’s Quilt Festival 2nd Entry

Hi Everyone,

Happy Friday!  I’m looking forward to the weekend.  I’ve nothing special planned just some puttering around the house quilting and cleaning.  I wish I din’t have to do the cleaning but I don’t have a fairy that will do it for me.

Bloggers Quilt Festival

I’m entering my second quilt for the Blogger’s Quilt Festival.  What a wonderful thing she does allowing us to show our creations.

I finished this quilt for a friend earlier this year.  There were expecting their third child. I’m sure they already have a few quilts as they are living in Norway, but I said that one more wouldn’t hurt.  They are kind people and I miss them terribly as I can’t see them very often.  They sent me a picture with Martin on it.  I think he is the cutest thing.

Here is a snapshot of what the quilt looked like before the baby was here.  I think it’s better looking with the baby on it.

Raf's Baby Quilt

My parents made it back from vacation to Ohio where my Dad is from and brought me this wonderful quilt that my Great Grandma made.  My Aunt had it quilted in the 80’s after she passed away.  I am so pleased that she has given this to me.  It is certainly a beautiful quilt in my eyes.  I will cherish it always.  As you can tell G Grandma was much more talented than me.  I wish I could talk to her today now that I’m grown up and she could teach me her craft.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Hi Cherie,
Aww, how cute is Martin? I love seeing quilts and their recipients . . . especially baby quilts! What a beautiful quilt you have from your great-grandmother. She did a fabulous job and it looks wonderful on your bed. It’s nice that it found its way to a home where it will be appreciated. Just curious if it has a label? If not, you might want to add one to note its history now while you know it. ~smile~ Roseanne
