Ready to Quilt

Ready to Quilt

Here we are ready to start quilting.  I have the wrong foot on my machine because I just completed stitching in the ditch on the main seams.

I’ll be starting on the red arrow blocks first.  Here is the idea I’m trying out.  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Hi Cheri,
I think that pattern looks perfect for the arrows! Is your tension slightly off – it looks like the bobbin thread is showing just a bit . . . but it’s hard to tell for sure. I look forward to seeing how you quilt the rest of this quilt. It sure is pretty. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Yes, tensions issues on the bobbin side. I can’t control the bobbin tension without adjusting the bobbin which I am scared to do. Janome sells a bobbin holder especially for fmq. I purchased it but it didn’t seem to help. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. PS. I followed you back.

      1. Cherie,
If you are sure your bobbin is installed/threaded correctly, I would play with the top thread tension. Take note or a picture of what it is set on now – don’t be afraid. Then turn it just a bit to the left and sew on scrap layers of fabric. If that makes it worse, go back to where you started and then go a little to the right. You shouldn’t need to make a huge adjustment, I don’t believe. It just looks a little off to me. Give it a try. ~smile~ Roseanne
